Welcome
Welcome friends and concerned citizens,
We can change the direction of our country. All of our voices need to be heard in Washington. The needs of South Carolina’s Third Congressional District are great and the government’s response over the last few years has been dismal. I believe that we can change that through hard work and cooperation.
Unfortunately, there are many problems that face us today including the loss of jobs, loss of people’s homes, loss of health care, and the high costs of gas, food, medicine and a war with no end in sight. To reverse these trends we must eliminate our dependence on foreign oil, dramatically increase the number of graduates in our school system, and bring quality jobs into our communities. Health care is either non-existent or outrageously expensive to many people. I believe that we must find a way to eliminate the huge profits of insurance companies and put those dollars back into quality health care. Finally, a political solution to the war in Iraq must be engineered. Getting the economy back on track, making health care affordable to all Americans, and bringing our troops home are my top priorities.
As a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter of an aging parent, daughter of a small business owner, pilot for a large corporation, Air Force veteran, church leader, youth coach, and community volunteer, I have applied the values of honesty, hard work, and faith to my own life. The rewards have been a wonderful husband and family, a great career, wonderful friends and neighbors, and the desire to serve others.
I would like to serve you, the people of the Third District, as your Congresswoman. I am very proud to have servied as a pilot in the US Air Force. I have had many great opportunities through my public education in Pickens County and at Clemson University, resulting in a deep commitment to our children and grandchildren to help make America great. I am asking for your support in my effort to restore faith in our government.
